Trip to Medford, and to Crecent City!!

we had a great trip! Lydia insisted on sticking the string in Grandmas mouth! Can you tell she is only 3 weeks from major surgery? She is such a trooper!

We had a great trip to medford, Tawn and Mike met us there, and we took a trip to the coast. Kiera saw Cora the sea lion several months ago and LOVED IT! So we went to see her again! Kiera loved it the second time too! I would reccomend this to any young kids!!

Touch tank at the start of the tour.  What i like about this aqarium is one, the price, (very cheap compared to others), and the fact that they will train their animals and let you touch them.  In Monteray the touch tanks are mainly for looks, they wont let you actually pick anything up.  Here they pick it up for you and hand it to you!

Lydia loved watching cora too! Cora was jumping up the the upper level to do a trick.

a lot of the tricks are for the medical needs of a animal in captivity. So they check her mouth every day. I guess that the gums and teeth are the best indicator of health.

after the aqaurium, we drove to see the big waves......There were no waves, but great tide pools!

The bright flowers of the coast were a great site!

Mike and doug found several tiny crabs, and hermit crabs.  They tried to get the kids to hold them, only lydia was brave enough to hold one! They were all over, like several per rock!

Kiera turns 5!!!

We had such a great day today, we have some great friends that were available to come!  We met at the "Ducky pool" (juniper swim and fitness in bend).  Russ and Alisha drove up from klamath, Tyson came from Roseburg, jon and maryn from medford, and Lisa and kids from Madras!! We missed mom and dad..and kirk....Maybe next year!  The pool is so fun, and Tyson swam and gave kiera dolphin dives, and we watched him to flips off the high dive!  The kids love the warm pool, and the big kids could go into the deep pool! Nolan and Ty both went on the rope swim and high dive, (much to mom's dismay...).  Then we went off to pappy's pizza to play and eat!  The pizza place has a playland with a refferee to help watch the kids!  The best part is their is glass between the playland and the parents......so no screaming, yelling, or fighting that we could hear!

To my dear friend Sarah......

I looked long and hard for a embarrassing picture of you....I am still looking for the sprinkler pictures from our house in shady cove.  You lucked out ....I could not find them...remember that day when you borrowed mine and Doug's, and Ashley's clothes to go play in the water outside?  I can't believe you are 16, it seemed like not that long ago you were a cute bald baby, with such a temper in the toddler years......We miss you and your family, but so glad to see you are doing good.    Get your drivers licence yet?  Surviving high school? and now ,,,,who would be crazy enough to raise pigs?  Alyssa and I will be there when you show!  We have it all planned.  It makes me so happy to see you doing so well, and serving God, taking part in meeting, and being such a good example.  Only 2 more years of High School!  So get your license and get it done!!

Computer again!!

My power supply box failed, and so ........computer dead! We live in burns, so I went down the the local Big R feed store, to look for a new power box. The feed store had one, but it was so outdated it would not work with my computer.  So I had to wait a week with no computer while newegg.com sent me one!  I am so glad tonight to assemble my computer back together again, and it works!!  I was worried that when I lost my power supply, that it may have shorted out other parts.  SSOOOO

the point to this post is????

WWW.CARBONITE.COM  I highly recommendit.  When my computer blacked out, I knew that the whole thing, up to what I had done that day, was totally backed up.  So I plugged my laptop into the home screen and keyboard to make due for a few days..... (apple users cannot do that ha ha ha).  So from my lap top I could access the carbonite web site and view my whole computer ( the dead one)!  The basic 1 year is 59 something, and I paid 79/year for backing up my external hard drives also. (full of pictures).   So if you don't have a back up in place, please sign up for carbonite!!!  (two months free if you use the rush limbaugh web site to order it). So if you call me for computer help, it better be backed up!!

I am also very proud to say that my mom even figured this out!!  It backs it up without you doing anything, it took my computer almost 3 months to finish.....mom's took a little over a week I think.  It works slow, so your internet is not interrupted.

We had one sunny afternoon to go look at the tractors.  Kiera and Grandpa went to go feed the chickens. (ducks, chickens, roosters all together at the neighbors house).

This starts out a little slow, my video thing paused instead of stopping each time. Lydia just got out of surgery, so Kiera danced for her! She has her tap dance recital next week, (yes she still needs some practice....) Can you tell she likes the outfit?

Kiera and I went swimming, to the beach, down to the apple orchard, down to the warf, all over!  The rain and gray weather got very old after several days.....but we seemed to have found a little sunshine in the showers.   We tried to go to the beach, we stayed less then two hours and were cold!! Kiera's hands were freezing!

 

kirk was  trying to get kiera to come play with his sand castle.  At this point, Niki was getting all the attention.........

Spring break

I can't believe how long it took me to post these pictures! We had a great trip, though the weather was not good for pictures! So they might be kind of boring.

Kiera and I got on the train headed to Santa Cruz to see my grandparents.  Leaving Klamath Falls on the ten o'clock train,  rode all night, and got to san jose the next day! Kiera loves the train, and it is a fun trip!  (it is a little uncomfortable in the night)

Kiera was looking forward to the aquarium, and it was a great day.  Kirk, mom and Niki went with us. We first went to the penguins when they were being fed.  I was surprised at how small they were! less then 2 feet tall!

And they have water jets for the kids to make waves with, Kiera loved this more than anything!  Mom and I finally sat and ate our lunch, so kiera could play more with the jets!

Pictures at last!

Sorry I am so behind on this blog!  I have not even taken pictures lately, so yesterday we got to get out of the house!

Picking up daddy on the back side of the steens mountains! It was so beautifull and such great weather! The sun was right in our eyes lookin up at the 7,000 foot high clif, but it was still pretty!

Yes kiera dressed herself, and played with Jimmy in the back with a blanket, so her hair is a mess!

So these are from my cell phone, but this is doug and dads job right now.  It is rocking the road at the base of the steens in the alvord desert. It is so pretty there! They will be there for another few weeks at least.  Kiera and I met doug down there as we wanted to see the mountains from that side!

So ever heard of the hotsprings in the Alvord desert? Well that is it! The water comes out of the moutain right on the road where i was standing, and then pipes catch it and send it into the concrete boxes that are there.  Then some metal was added for sides.....sssoooo primitive! But it was hot.  We did not go in, just looked.

We had planned to got to klamath falls, but Doug needed to work on his truck and this roof!  One of our rentals (not in the park) lost the roof on the carport....and it flew up on the main roof! So We had to get a crane to get it off!

Pictures.....Just a few

How is life in burns? Good! We have had a very mild winter.  Hardly any snow, and today it got up to 50! Such a different winter from last years -24 for 2 weeks.  We have so much sunshine here....if you can handle the cold. 

Special meetings here are such a privilege, as we get workers here most of the week! Doyle and Lyle stayed with us, and it was so good to get to see Doyle again! We got to hear a lot about his trip.  We had a lot of other visitors and it is always so fun! I have not been good about pictures lately, as i seem to be so busy!!  I remember when I said, "there might be nothing to do in burns!"  NOT!  I seem to keep very busy, so that is good for me.

I got to go down to medford last weekend and spend 3 days with Grandma and Grandpa.  Think they enjoyed it?

These two "Fight" all the time.....cannot leave each other alone......both of them! They have a lot of fun!

The week I spent in Medford for Sylvia's Funeral, was right before Christmas, so mom Gave the girls their presents! Then Friday we got to go to crescent city for the day.  Mom has more pictures on her picassa site of that day.  I had already posted a couple.

The seals were playing king of the dock, the guy at the aquairum said they will even sleep like that just to be dominate.
